The Space 

Nestled along the False Bay coastline in the heart of St James, hidden in the beautiful Sonnekus boutique Hotel, our bar boasts a speakeasy atmosphere that will transport you to a different era altogether. Think dark lighting, velvet seating, and an air of subtle mystery.Just one catch… you'll need to find one of the ten hidden keys scattered throughout the venue.

As the name suggests, we are passionate about drinks, great ones, and our menu reflects that. We serve some of the best local and international gins and have a variety of signature cocktails that are to die for.

We take membership seriously. Find a key once, keep it and become a Key Custodian so that for every time you visit, a surprise is waiting for you. Our members enjoy a range of benefits, from access to exclusive events to personalized attention from our team of mixologists and key masters.

The Hunt 

Start by keeping an eye out for clues as you explore the space.
The keys could be tucked away in unexpected places, like behind a bookshelf or inside a vintage suitcase. Use your powers of observation and deduction to uncover the keys' hiding spots. Once you've found a key, present this to one of our Key masters, they’ll hand you a menu which unlocks the door to your table.

If you find a key and one of our key masters, Congratulations! You've earned yourself a spot in this exclusive hole in the wall. If not, keep searching - the other nine keys are still out there waiting to be discovered. Remember, the key to finding the keys is to keep your wits about you and be persistent.
